Montana Limestone plays an important role in the production of plastics, rubber, and glass, as well as clean fuel. Montana Limestone is a subsidiary of Dakota Coal Company, the largest coal company in the United States.

Increased federal scrutiny, continuously changing regulations, and the staggering expense of live training a large workforce, make it difficult for companies to stay current with federal Mine Safety & Health Administration (MSHA) regulatory requirements.
